Hours: 8:00am to 7:00pm. daily (365 days a year)
Location: BIYEM-ASSI STADE, YAOUNDE.  
Filing a Lost Item Report

• You may file a lost item report in person, by phone, or e-mail. You will need to provide the following information when filing a lost item report:
• Name
• Address
• Telephone Number
• Date the item was last seen
• Location where item was last seen
• Complete description of the lost item (colour, size, brand, etc.) and its contents, if any
• If you think the item was stolen, you also may want to file a stolen property report with the Any Police District or by calling our office for help  22231-0383.

• Items found along the streets, in bars, schools, hotels, public offices, train stations, travel agencies, in the airport terminal, parking garages or drive areas are stored securely in Lost and Found for 6 months  before disposition except personal certificates and unexpired id cards and passports.

• For items lost or left on an airplane, please contact your airline.

Retrieving Lost Items

• MTC Lost and Found Staff will secure all found items and make every effort to research and locate potential owners. You may arrange for the return of items by:
• On-site pickup: If you properly identify items, you may pick them up during Lost and Found's regular hours of operation. We require a picture ID at time of pick up. You may pre-arrange an after-hours pick up by calling 242144848 during Lost and Found's regular hours of operation.
• Cameroon Mail: The Lost and Found office can return small items via the Post Office.

  MTC Lost Property Office is a Leading National Lost and Found Service in Cameroon created by The Mirror Theatre Company, Inc.(GIC.MTC). It recovers over 50 lost items per day and helps link them with their rightful owners. Feel free to contact us if you are a victim or if you know any victim of lost article(s). Besides our passionate devotion to the recovery of lost items, we are also dedicated to the promotion of National and Foreign Languages.

Besides, this human problem is the question of lost, misplacement or forgetting of articles. The whole notion of forgetting or misplacing something has been mankind’s greatest problem ever since the building of pyramids. Everyday, millions of objects are misplaced or forgotten, ranging from keys, passports, identity cards, professional cards, rings, ear-rings, theatre tickets, scissors, cellular phones, sweaters, eye glasses, certificates, bags, wallets and the list is long. Recently, a child, a married woman and a mad man have been reported missing in the city of Yaounde. Many of these objects and persons are never recovered. And when this happens, an ordinary day can become a nightmare. But the incredible fact is that each one of these lost objects and even persons could have been found quickly, using the amazing method now developed by MTC. And we are sure, as we are convinced, that the victim(s) will be delighted and amazed by this remarkable strategy for locating whatever you lose. A solution at last! MTC intends to come with ways and means to enable such victim(s) recover their lost articles and lost ones with ease. Declassified items or articles that have stayed for long shall be given to other non-profit making organizations to be distributed to the poor and needy. We are equally aware of the fact that all plasticized documents are non-biodegradable as they cannot be recylced by the forces of nature. For this reason, we devote our time in the recovery of these items, not just because we want to unite them with the lawful owners, but to safe the environment from degradation.

Be Alert! – MTC Safety Measure

While losing an item can be painful and bring inconveniences and unnecessary costs, be mindful of you own security and safety while retrieving a lost item reportedly found.

1.      Do not meet anyone in a place that can compromise your safety when retrieving a lost item. Have someone else accompany you and always meet in public places.

2.      If someone claims to have found your lost item, ensure that they are saying the truth by verifying with security questions e.g.

1.      Your date of birth for items like id and passports,

2.      serial number of the item if you know it yourself i.e. id cards have them.

3.      Photo evidence (Our site has ability to upload photos, or better still, a finder can send you photos via social media like facebook or whatsapp)

4.      If your item is defaced somehow or has a unique mark, ask the finder to describe it.

3.      Never send someone money in advance unless you have verified with the above and any other security measures you may think of.
